TIPS TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM THE SUN WHEN YOU SWIM | Many of us have been confined to our homes pretty much for the whole of the past two years and now that there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel, many of us want to get back to living our normal lives. This involves enjoying the many fantastic beaches that we have and the clear blue water as well.
We haven’t spent a great deal of time outdoors and so like everything in life that you haven’t done in quite some time, you need to take baby steps when exposing your skin back to the sun again. It is pretty well known that vitamin D is incredibly good for immune health so you don’t want to completely block it out.
The key is, however, to take the necessary steps to protect your skin from the sun and one way to do that is to make sure that you put on your kaftan when you are not swimming. It will help to protect you from the sun’s rays and you will look amazing as well.
There are so many different kinds to choose from in many different colours and styles, so there is bound to be one that suits your tastes. There are other things that you can put in place to protect your skin from these harmful rays and the following are just some of them.
Avoid the noon sun
The sun is a lot harder at this time of the day and so it makes a lot of sense to try to stay out of it for at least a couple of hours. If this is totally unavoidable then you should wear your kaftan and maybe choose one that is a little longer so it covers your whole body. Whenever you can, try to stay in the shade as much as possible so that you can properly protect your skin. Remember, wearing the best customised beauty makeup will not provide your skin with protection.
Choose the right sunscreen
Sunscreen is a great way to protect your skin as it is a perfect barrier from UV rays. Depending on your skin, apply a cream with at least an SPF of 30 or more to provide you with the essential protection that your skin needs. Make sure that you apply the sunscreen in the right way and it’s always better to use more than to not use enough.
Apply cream in advance
Many people make the mistake of going to the beach and then applying their sunscreen and this is the wrong way to do it. It takes at least 20 to 30 minutes for the sun protection to work and so if you only start putting it on when at the beach, then there is a high likelihood that your skin will get burnt.
The main thing to remember is that you don’t forget your kaftan when you go to the beach as this will provide you with the best protection possible. You can cover yourself up but you can still remain incredibly fashionable at the same time.
